An encounter, rather than a statement.

Careful preparation, worked lighting, words that come without being forced: a short film that says more about someone than any speech could.

My whole job is to make the camera disappear.
A video portrait is neither a standard interview nor a promotional clip. It is an encounter, filmed with a cinematic intent: worked lighting, framing that breathes, words that surface without being pushed.
Every portrait is its own thing, with no standard format and no template: the preparation, the direction and the edit are built for that person.
It suits founders and directors who want something other than corporate language, artists looking to be shown as they are, and organisations wanting to give weight to individual paths.

FAQ
Where do you film?
At the person’s home, at their workplace, outdoors or in a location chosen together. Based in Paris, I travel throughout France, Switzerland and Europe.
Should anything be written in advance?
No, and I would advise against it. We prepare the speaking points together, then the direction happens on camera: what moves people is what is said without being recited.
How long does filming take?
Half a day for a Portrait, a full day for a Signature portrait, several days spread over time for a Grand portrait. A second portrait can be filmed the same day, as an option.
How long before the portrait is delivered?
Allow 1 to 2 weeks after filming for the edit, then a few days for adjustments and additional versions. A tight deadline can be arranged in advance.
What formats do you deliver?
A 2 min film with the Portrait package, 3 min with Signature portrait, 6 min with Grand portrait, in 16/9, along with subtitled vertical versions for social media. Subtitles are included up to 3 min of finished film; beyond that, they are an option.
Who decides on the edit?
I propose a first edit, then we adjust together. The narrative direction stays mine, and that is what gives the film its coherence.
What if the person is not comfortable on camera?
That is the most common case, and it is the heart of my work. The preparation time, the calm of the set-up and attentive direction make the camera disappear faster than you would think.
What equipment do you use?
4K cameras, lighting worked to sculpt the face, discreet microphones and high-fidelity sound recording. See my equipment in detail.
Who owns the rights to the film?
You hold the usage rights for your own distribution; the terms are set out in the quote. Consent from the person filmed is obtained by you before the shoot, and I can provide a form.
How is this different from a filmed interview?
A portrait is a single, cinematic film: the subject is not what the person says, it is who they are. Filmed interviews serve a professional message, shot as a series and delivered as short videos. See filmed interviews
How is travel charged?
The prices shown apply to Paris and Île-de-France. Elsewhere in France, in Switzerland or in Europe, travel costs are added to the quote: transport and accommodation where applicable, at cost or as a fixed fee depending on the project.
My diary often fills up several weeks ahead. The sooner we talk, the better I can commit to your dates.
